Sustainability is at the core of our mission at Start Campus

Our sustainability strategy is built on four core pillars: Community, Planet, Industry, and Company. We strategically guide our efforts to minimize environmental, social, and industry impacts while enhancing synergies by promoting circular economy opportunities aligned with 13 of the 17 United Nation´s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Each pillar reflects our commitment to sustainable practices that benefit both local and global communities.

For the

planet

At Start Campus, sustainability is at the core of our mission. We are proud to be Net Zero Water today, utilizing a seawater cooling solution that conserves water and enhances efficiency by reducing power consumption compared to traditional systems.

Our commitment extends to becoming completely Net Zero by 2030. We aim to minimize the carbon footprint of our construction activities and reduce the environmental impact of our operations. This includes using 100% renewable energy.

We actively invest in climate change mitigation strategies and align with the IPCC's 1.5ºC pathway as part of the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Our efforts contribute to affordable renewable energy solutions and prioritize sourcing sustainable and local raw materials. Additionally, we are dedicated to developing biodiversity restoration and conservation projects.

Our waste management systems focus on re-purposing, re-routing, re-using, and upcycling, ensuring that we handle waste responsibly and sustainably.

For the

industry

We are strong advocates of fostering R&D collaboration among industry players to establish outstanding design, build, and operational standards. Our focus is on innovation, exploring circular economy opportunities, and supporting scientific research for both local and international institutions.

Our projects repurpose old industrial sites, adhere to new efficiency standards, and utilize legacy ocean cooling systems to eliminate water consumption. By emphasizing recycling and material reuse, we actively support a circular economy.
