SINES, Portugal – 1 June 2026 – Start Campus, the company behind the 1.2 GW SINES Data Campus in Portugal, is proud to announce that its SIN01 facility has been named Best Data Centre in Europe at the Datacloud Awards 2026, held this week in Cannes, France.

The award, received in partnership with Schneider Electric, represents one of the most prestigious recognitions in the European digital infrastructure industry and follows Start Campus' success at the DCD Global Awards 2025, where the project was named European Data Centre Project of the Year.

The recognition highlights the continued success of the SINES Data Campus and the significant achievements delivered by teams across engineering, construction, operations, sustainability, security, connectivity and commercial functions.

The award-winning SIN01 facility forms part of the wider 1.2 GW SINES Data Campus, one of Europe's largest and most ambitious digital infrastructure projects. Designed to support next-generation cloud, AI and high-performance computing workloads, the campus combines large-scale capacity with industry-leading sustainability credentials, including innovative seawater cooling technology, access to 100% renewable energy and a targeted PUE of 1.1 and WUE of 0.
